Legacy Having competed against the best in his home country, Jaime is ready to make a new legacy for himself in America.

Interview

What makes you different to other athletes? I am a very determined person and to reach my goals I do a lot of personal training outside of my club and school, always pushing myself to the limit. My time management and organization skills are excellent and this allows me to balance different priorities in my day to day schedule. I am extremely dedicated to my coach and team mates. I know it takes time and effort to reach the top and I believe I have what it takes.

Why do you want to compete in college? Since a young age I have been involved in both athletics and football. Over the years I have always represented my athletic club at the major competitions. As part of the school athletic team I have competed in the premier competitions in the country and have brought back the national title. I love competing in a team environment and both football and athletics allowed me to do this. Sport has always been a major part of my life and I believe college in the USA will give me a chance to do something I love at the highest level while getting the best education possible. Another important aspect is the high quality of the coaches and facilities.

College Goals My main goals are to gain a professional qualification while pushing my athletic skills to the limit. I hope to come out with a first class degree that will prepare me for my working life. I feel I have what it takes to become one of the main athletes on a college team and my aim is to contribute as much as I can to my teammates and to my college.

Life Goals I enjoy traveling and I would like to see as many countries and cultures as possible. Ideally to use my educational qualifications to start my own business. In the short term I would love to compete for my country at the top international events and hopefully one day to appear at the Olympics.
