Athletes World Foundation (AWF) aims to break down athletes financial barriers preventing them from continuing their Education through Sport. About Alex I wish to combine both my academic ability and sporting talent into a college scholarship which will allow me to achieve my full potential. Interview

What makes you different to other players? I believe I have a unique drive and more determination than the average person that will force me to succeed. I am a very competitive person and will do whatever it takes to win. However I understand how important academics are, so my will to win will have an effect both on and off the pitch. I am an outgoing person and will make every effort to represent the college in a good light whilst being a team player. Why do you want to compete in college? Since I began playing soccer as a 5 year old, I have always played regularly and wanted to compete at the highest level. I realize that the chances of making a career out of soccer are extremely slim. I have also always been academically able, and the college scholarship system I believe I will fulfill my potential by allowing me to compete in sport at the highest level whilst allowing me to study for a degree which will sustain me in a career after graduation. College goals? Even during secondary school I had to be up at 6am in order to get a train to school. I am no stranger to hard work and have always balanced school work and sports, being successful in both. I believe this will be beneficial to me, and I an asset to whatever team I am in. I want to be the best player in any team I’m in, I want to win championships with my team, and hopefully make it to the MLS draft. Life goals? At the end of my time at college, ideally I would like to be a part of the MLS draft; I understand that this could be unrealistic. Failing that I would want to graduate with a degree in something along the lines of Biotechnology and become a Bioinformatician or something similar. I want to make the most of my time being able to play sport and take it to the highest possible level I can, before searching for a long term career.

Im ready Alex has prepared his entire life to take the next step in his game and gain a quality education at the same time.
