TOWA BIRD’S FIRST SINGLE

Towa Bird, former Discovery College student and YRock kid, has released her first single, Wild Heart , on the Interscope label. Since taking up electric guitar at the age of 12, the singer-songwriter has become known for her wildly explosive guitar solos and sensitive lyrics. “I grew up listening to so many male-gazey love songs, and it was important to put something out into the world that felt like the music I wanted for myself when I was a kid,” Towa says of her April release which you can catch on Spotify.

One of only two competitors to play two instruments in the competition, the nine-year-old DB resident placed first in violin and runner-up in piano. Foster would like to express his thanks to his piano teacher (and mum) concert pianist Stephanie Fung, and his violin teacher Nina Wong. [PHOTOS COURTESY OF Tim Henderson.]
