five things to make...

1. Hello, gorgeous! You have to

check out this beautiful hexy patchwork blankie... here’s the pattern on Ravelry. The border trim is featured on Dover & Madden’s blog. There is a photo tutorial {it isn’t really a pattern, but a photo illustrated explanation of how to do it} Like it says on the blog, the pattern may be hard for newbies to understand, but experienced crocheters will find it easy to follow.

3. 10 ways to make garland!

How can you resist? You can’t!

2. Embroider these pretty flow-

ers! Aimee Ray has a tutorial on her blog and the cute deer embroidery pattern is available in her Etsy shop. Little Dear.

4. I do love peacock feathers!

Cook Love Craft has a jewelry tutorial that shows you how to make these earrings.

5. Make these cute bracelets with a coat hanger and

fabric scraps. Creme De La Craft’s project is easy and would be fun to make with the kiddos.

the indie kitchen makes nut milk

I love smoothies. I’ve been drinking them for breakfast for at least 15 years. I love them so much I take my blender on vacation with me. Last year, all the sudden my smoothies weren’t making me feel as good as they used to. I have always used a non dairy milk as my base with no issues {started with soy and rice in my early 20’s, and at this time had been using coconut milk} It was so weird. I mentioned it to a friend and she told me about her gluten & dairy free friend that just recently discovered an intolerance to carageenan, which is in 99.9% of non dairy milks {and a host of other foods including all other vegan dairy replacement foods like cheese, sour cream, etc...} so she started making her own out of nuts and seeds in her blender. I thought it would be worth a shot! It’s really easy and I feel so much better too. Sweeten with honey, maple syrup or agave if you like... sometimes I add chai spices!

Soak 1 C. of cashews, almonds, hemp seeds, brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, etc... {either alone or in any desired combination} in water for at least 4 hours. I usually leave em soaking overnight, rinse em and throw em in the blender with 3 C. of water {I use alkaline water. Have you tried it?} Blend it up for about 60 seconds. Get a nut milk bag, put it in a bowl, pour the mixture into the bag. Close it up and start milking! I store mine in the fridge in a pyrex carafe, of course. indie lovely

Use homemade nut milk in all of your recipes in place of dairy milk

So I am kinda obsessed with project life. It’s a pocket sytem of scrapbooking that makes it so much easier to keep up with. A lot of project lifers do a two page spread for each week, but I honestly cannot keep up with that at this point, so I do it by event. Or whenever I feel like it. You know, I don’t take it too seriously, or else it will feel like work and then I won’t want to do it at all! I also got a subscription to Studio Calico’s Marks & CO project life monthly kit. OMG this is so fun. Look at the box for August. Each month you get a bunch of the journaling cards and placecards, {which are beautifully designed, might I add}, lots of cute embellishments, a sheet of alpha stickers, and some stamps. I’m totally loving the RAD tag that came with this month’s kit. I stitched it up in a hurry! I think there’s still time to sign up this month so hurry up and get your booty over to Studio Calico’s website to grab one for yourself. Then check out my project life pinterest board for ideas...

The house is coming along. I finally got the living room furnished!and ready for crafty hangouts with my friends. It is a mix of eras. Now I just need to get some art on the walls and it will look more like home.

There’s a great new app for Walgreens, you can get your instagram pics printed in less than an hour. Um hello, that totally works for me. I printed out a few {hundred} to scrapbook. I wanna plan a scrapbooking night soon. I really like it. I got a new project life kit that I’m gonna modify to use square pics.
