allan houston FUN FACTS • Allan grew up two houses down from the late great Muhammad Ali on Grand Avenue. • Allan actually learned how to walk on a basketball court. • Allan taught himself to cut his own hair at age 16, and later went on to cut hair for his teammates and other athletes in college. • Allan and his wife, Tamara, were married in 1996 and have seven children (5 girls and 2 boys). • Allan’s favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys. • Allan and his daughter, Remy (at age 5), appeared on Clifford the Big Red Dog. • Allan loves watching ‘Impractical Jokers’ with his daughters. • Allan hosted a fundraiser for then candidate, Barack Obama, at his home during the 2008 primary and general elections.

The LDL serves as a partnership program with schools. It seeks to align the fundamentals of Faith, Integrity, Sacrifice, Leadership and Legacy with existing curriculum, activities and programs.
Spanning from 7 weeks to 12 months, the AHMI program partners with community-based organizations to help recruit mentors, cultivate character, and strengthen relationships between youth and mentors.
