A few years ago, back when Abuja was where I called home, I came across a notice. Cobhams Asuquo, the brilliant producer, was coming to town. He was coming to support the guitar guy Bez, who was the main attraction. I could buy Bez s debut album directly and have it signed. I got to the venue. I bought the album and got it signed. His performance that evening was delightful, and back home, I inserted the CDinmy player. The title track, the first on the album, greeted my ears with its hopeful chorus: ‘’I have a dream that someday I’ll be the super sun. Just who was this guy with somewhat celestial dreams?



Adunni & Nefretiti is an all female singing group which was established in 2006 by Adunni Orobiyi, then a fresh graduate of Creative Arts from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Spelt Nefretiti instead of the Egyptian 'Nefertiti' (meaning 'a beautiful woman has come'), Adunni says she and their then manager Toyin Allison-Balogun, settled on the name because they liked the sound of it.
