Were you overly invested in your High School choir? Do you not know your Bach from your Bernstein? Whatever your background, AUCS is the choir for you! WHAT’S ANSWERS BY LOUISE JACKSON, PRESIDENT THE AIM OF THE CLUB?

To sing and socialise. AUCS unites people who love music. We’re here for those who love to sing (or want to start) but aren’t necessarily studying music. Our specialty is classical choral repertoire (don’t let that scare you off, we promise it’s more fun than it sounds). We also love jazz, musical theatre, and the occasional dramatic pop arrangement. WHY SHOULD STUDENTS JOIN THE CLUB? Because singing is fun! No matter what your musical experience is, you’re welcome. You’ll make lifelong friends, sing music you won’t hear anywhere else, and make memories you’ll never forget. You won’t regret joining AUCS. Your first year is free, so really, you’ve got nothing to lose! WHEN/ WHEN DO YOU REHEARSE? We rehearse every Tuesday, 7 to 9.30pm in the Hartley Concert Room. WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH THE PENGUIN? Audrey is AUCS’ oldest member. She is a great auk, an extinct species that actually bears little relation to the penguin. Back in the 60s, someone made the connection between auk and AUCS, and Audrey was born. She’s attended every dinner, O’Week and concert (and has been stolen from a concerning number of parties).
