Step 1. Removing Carriage

A For Reformer models with vertical frame.

Remove vertical frame first. NOTE: Two people are required to lift vertical frame. IMPORTANT: Remove all springs from vertical frame, including roll-down bar and safety chain. Secure push-thru bar in place by hand, while removing vertical frame.

C Remove shoulder rests on models that have

removable shoulder rests as a feature.

E NOTE: Requires two people.

Carefully slide the carriage out of the aluminum rails keeping the carriage level until completely free of rails. Turn carriage over ensuring floating rollers are secure and do not come in contact with the floor. 4

B To remove carriage, remove pulleybars and place on

the floor, on either side of the aluminum rails.

D For SPXâ&#x201E;˘, Rack & Rollâ&#x201E;˘ and Client models only:

Using a flat head screwdriver, remove stopper plates.

F Place the carriage face down on the ground.

Step 3. Removing Style 1 Springs

A Hold the spring coil a few inches away from the

spring anchoring bar and bend spring down forcibly 90° or more. This will force the spring bolt against the inside spring coils to “friction lock”, restrict it from spinning and allow you to unscrew nylon locknut, using 7/16" wrench. A lubricant may be required. If you are having difficulties removing, please contact us for assistance.

C Remove spring bolt from the spring anchoring bar.

B With 7/16" wrench, hold the nylon locknut in place.

Turn nylon locknut counter-clockwise. This may require a bit of torque force. NOTE: DISCARD used nylon locknuts. (New nylon locknuts are provided.)

D Pull the ball end of the springs out of the

spring holding loops.

E Repeat steps A to D on the next spring holding loops.

Step 4. Removing Style 2 Springs

A With 7/16" wrench, hold the spring-side fixed

nut in place.

C Remove spring bolt from the spring anchoring bar.

B Using second 7/16" wrench on opposite side,

loosen nylon locknut. This may require a bit of torque force. NOTE: DISCARD used nylon locknuts. (New nylon locknuts are provided with new spring holding loops.)

D Pull the ball end of the springs out of the

spring holding loops.

E Repeat steps A to D on the next spring holding loops.

Step 5. Replacing New Springs (ALL MODELS) Determine replacement spring package. Springs are color-coded at the ball end. Red = 100%, Blue = 50%, White = 25% TRADITIONAL SPRING PACKAGE 4 X 100%, 1 X 50% arrange as follows:

HIGH-PRECISION SPRING PACKAGE 3 X 100%, 1 X 50%, 1 X 25% arrange as follows:

Place 50% spring in the center and two 100% springs on either side.

Place 50% spring in the center, and 25% spring to one side. Place 100% springs in remaining positions.

A Remove nylon locknut from spring bolt.

B Thread the spring bolt through the spring holding loop.

C Insert spring bolt through the corresponding

E Hold spring-sided fixed nut in place with

7/16" wrench. Using second wrench, tighten the new nylon locknut. NOTE: DO NOT REUSE old nylon locknuts.

F Both nylon locknut and spring-side fixed nut should

be snug up against the spring anchoring bar.

G Repeat steps A to F for the remaining four springs.

Step 6. Replacing Carriage

A Remove carriage stopper.

B Wipe inside of aluminum rails with window cleaner

and/or a dry cloth to remove dust or dirt. Spray cleaner onto cloth first. Avoid spraying directly onto surfaces, rollers or aluminum rails. Insert carriage stopper in one of the six positions.

C Affix sticker on the underside of Reformer carriage.

The date springs are shipped appears on the sticker with the provided spring replacement package. Springs should be replaced every 24 months.

E Slide carriage and rollers into c-channels. NOTE: To prevent damaging rollers, we strongly

advise two people hold carriage. One person guides rollers carefully into the channels while the other supports the opposite side of the carriage. Once rollers are secured in channels, guide carriage into place. 10

D Ensure that the pulleybars are still on either side of

the aluminum rails. Carefully turn carriage to its side while ensuring rollers never come in contact with the floor. (Now, prepare for other person to take hold of opposite side of the carriage.)

F CAUTION: When guiding carriage straight into

aluminum rails, move slowly and carefully as the rollers are sensitive. Once rollers are in the rails they are protected.

G For SPXâ&#x201E;˘, Rack & Rollâ&#x201E;˘ and Client models only:

I Replace vertical frame. NOTE: Two people are required to lift vertical frame.

H Insert pulleybars into receptacles at rear of Reformer

and tighten star knobs at base of receptacles. Ensure eyehooks on top of pulleybars are parallel to aluminum rails.

J Replace gearbar and engage springs before resuming

use of your Reformer.

Slide vertical frame into receptacles. For V2 Max Plus models position pulley system facing carriage. For traditional model position highest eyehooks facing carriage. Tighten all four 3/8" x 3/4" hex bolts. Attach springs, roll-down bar and safety chain.

Mechanical Safety Check

Cleaning Rails

Proper maintenance and timely replacement of your equipment or component parts is your responsibility.

The inside of aluminum rails around the floating and fixed rollers should be cleaned weekly with window cleaner and a cloth. Spray cleaner onto cloth first, avoid spraying directly onto surfaces, rollers or aluminum rails.

Check frequently for deformation of springs and replace as needed within 24-month period. Check that spring nuts, spring bolts and ball end of springs are securely fastened. Check wear on single and double ended spring clips and replace as needed.

Ensure all nylon locknuts and spring bolts are securely fastened.

Ensure footbar is securely fastened. Ensure swing arm support is securely fastened. Check wear on all star knob threads, replace as needed. Check wear on ropes, replace as needed. Ensure shoulder rests are inserted completely. Inspect the retractable rope system (if applicable) to confirm the ropes are in position and the threaded bolts of the cleats and pulley blocks are secure.

Check that all 3/8" x 3/4" hex bolts on the Reformer’s two vertical frame receptacles are tight and that the vertical frame is securely anchored (if applicable).

Refer to the assembly section in this manual for initial assembly instructions and part labeling. FAILURE TO PERFORM RECOMMENDED SAFETY CHECKS OR USING THE MACHINE WITH IMPROPERLY ADJUSTED, BROKEN OR WORN PARTS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS BODILY INJURY.

CAUTION: Never use oil lubricants as they may damage rollers.

REPLACE ALL SPRINGS EVERY 24 MONTHS. Conduct a regular weekly inspection of the following:
