We s t a r t e d Pe o p l e O f T h e Wo r l d p r o j e c t a s a w a y t o c o n n e c t e v e r yo n e d u r i n g t h e 2 0 2 0 p a n d e m i c , w h e n t h e f r e e d o m w e u s e d t o h av e w a s m o d i f i e d , a n d t h e n e w “ n o r m a l ” w a s u n f a m i l i a r a n d d i f f e r e n t . We w a n t e d t o c r e a t e s o m e thing that would bring some smiles, brighten the new (and t h e n g r u e s o m e ) r e a l i t y, a n d u n i t e p e o p l e a c r o s s t h e g l o b e. We f o l l o w e d t h e s a f e t y p r o t o c o l s m e t i c u l o u s l y a s w e t r av eled across the globe in the heat of the pandemic, driven by t h e i d e a w e b e l i e v e d i n a n d f u e l e d by t h e r e c e p t i v i t y and encouragement from the audience who read editoria l s w e p u t t o g e t h e r. I n t h e p r o c e s s w e l e a r n e d a l o t o f n e w t h i n g s . We m a d e n e w l i f e - l o n g f r i e n d s . Fe l l i n l ov e w i t h m a n y d i f f e r e n t cultures. Got to be a part of some amazing charitable causes. As we continued to g row the project, we encountered int e r e s t f r o m g a l l e r i e s , m a g a z i n e s a n d p r i n t m e d i a . We f e l t strong that we wanted to make this something more than j u s t “ p i c t u r e s f o r s a l e ” . We f e l t t h a t i f w e a r e t o s e l l t h e s e pictures, then the world should benefit from them, too. This catalog contains some of the examples of the photos t h a t w e r e a n d a r e l ov e d by t e n s o f t h o u s a n d s o f p e o p l e. B e c a u s e t h e y s p e a k t o e v e r yo n e. We f o u n d t h a t n o m a t t e r w h e r e i n t h e w o r l d yo u l i v e, n o m a t t e r w h a t f a i t h o r r e l i g i o n yo u p r a c t i c e, n o m a t t e r w h a t yo u r s o c i a l s t a t u s i s , p ov e r t y h a s n o g e o g r a p h i c a l b o u n d a r i e s , w e m o u r n t h e s a m e w a y, w e c r y f o r s a m e and/or similar reasons. We a l s o f o u n d t h a t t h e e s s e n s e o f h a p p i n e s s i s t h e s a m e f o r a l l p e o p l e a r o u n d t h e g l o b e. We f o u n d t h a t w e d r e a m about similar things and smile for same reasons. Hope finds its way into every home and every heart. We h o p e t h a t by c a p t u r i n g w h a t w e s a w a n d e x p e r i e n c e d while connecting the world during one of the most chall e n g i n g t i m e s i n t h e m o d e r n h i s t o r y, w e c a n t a k e o u r p r o j e c t a s t e p f u r t h e r, a n d c o n t i n u e t o u s e t h e f u n d s f r o m s a l e s t o l e s s e n t h e b u r d e n o f p ov e r t y f o r m a n y, t o p u t more smiles on more faces and make this world a better p l a c e.
