TARTUFFE: A One-Act Play from Moliere Florida - Boone High School Written by Noyce Burleson Directed by Alison Domino Produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, IL Tartuffe is a religious wanderer who is taken in by Orgon. Tartuffe becomes adored by Orgon and Madame Pernelle for his morals and religious beliefs. The rest of the family is not quite as taken with him and believe him to be hypocritical. Published by Broadway Licensing/ Playscripts Inc. The Old Man has kept his post as the sole caretaker of the moon for as long as he (or his wife, the Old Woman) can remember. When she is drawn away by a mysterious melody sparking memories of their shared past, the Old Man must decide between duty (and routine) and love (and adventure). Luckily for audiences everywhere, he chooses the latter, and what follows is an imaginative sea-faring epic, encompassing apocalyptic storms, leviathans of the deep, and cantankerous ghosts, as well as the fiercest obstacle of all: change.

One of his sons, Larry, goes missing in action. Three years later, Larry’s sweetheart, Ann, reconnects with his brother, Chris, bringing with her uncomfortable truths the Keller family must finally face. Meanwhile their mother, Kate, waits desperately for Larry’s uncertain return.

OUT OF THE CLEAR BLUE SKY: VOICES OF 9/11 Tennessee – Stewarts Creek High School Compiled and devised by the Students of Stewarts Creek High School Directed by Donald Fann Out of the Clear Blue Sky: Voices of 9/11 is an original theatrical work created by the students at Stewarts Creek High School. The show is based on Oral Histories from the 9/11 attacks and uses a unique devising process in which the students as a group create both the text and visual imagery of the show. The result is the fascinating perspective of students who were not alive when the attacks took place. The show follows the stories of six people as they navigate the tragedy and uses various imagery techniques to re-create the impact of major events of the day.

As the events unfold, we learn how he came to be a resident at the asylum through a tale of love, devotion, psychosis, and murder. All is not as it seems though, and each twist of the tale is like a twist of a knife, as the audience is taken on a reality bending adventure and left to ponder the question: What really happened here?

ICARUS Mississippi – Northwest Rankin High School Written by Jessica Chipman Directed by Juniper Wallace Produced by Special Arrangement with Eldridge Publishing Co. Inc. Inventor and architect Daedalus commits a crime in Athens and is banished to Crete to serve King Minos. Determined to right the wrong of his crime, Daedalus becomes a father to Icarus, a daring and precocious boy whose eyes are on all the glories of the world around him – the sky, the sea, the stars – while Daedalus buries himself in his work, attempting to save the people of Athens and Crete from King Minos’ shrewd plans. After adventures involving sea god Poseidon, the Labyrinth, the Minotaur, and a broken heart, Daedalus and Icarus find themselves in a locked tower with no way out. Daedalus makes wings made of feathers, wax, and wood – their only hope for escape from the tower. While Icarus’ life ends tragically, Daedalus honors his son by keeping his eyes on the beauty of the world around him.

Produced by special arrangement with Stage Partners The Trojan Women, written by Euripides and adapted by Jon Jury, highlights the journey of the women of Troy through the Trojan War. Facing their home being torn apart by Greek soldiers, the women must come together and find their strength in unity. Time after time, the women are undermined and beaten by men who believe they are more powerful, in turn bringing the women closer to discovering that home is not found in a place, but rather within one another.

Produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATICPUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, IL A group of strangers meet in a dirty subway station and have arrived with limited personal belongings, their watches have stopped and they all claim to be in different cities. Soon they learn there is no way out of the station, and the unfortunate truth is told to them: they are all dead. Since subway stations have two sides, they reason the train leaving from one platform must be bound for heaven, while the train leaving from the other platform must be bound for hell. They reflect upon their lives, recalling and confessing past deeds of which they are not proud, hoping to figure out which platform is which. As the subway train finally approaches, they must decide whether to stay and ponder their actions further, or to have faith and climb aboard to their destination.

Or worst of all, chosen to be someone’s dinner entree? Such is the predicament of Liz and Stu, two lobsters who find themselves in the tank of a seafood restaurant. Liz is a crustacean who’s been around the tank a few times. She’s cleverly devised a “dead” act. Frozen in position, starry-eyed, claws rigidly akimbo, the “dead” pose is meant to ward off hungry diners and send them scurrying off to order the stuffed flounder or the filet of sole. Enter Stu, a lobster of a more philosophical bent.

When Greta, a young girl living in Nazi Germany, reads that the nearby women’s concentration camp is hiring guards, she sees it as a chance to find her place in the world and provide for her sister Lise. But soon she learns the reality of her duties, and so too does she learn how to justify her crimes, heading further and further down the dark road laid by the Third Reich. Kind-hearted Lise is shocked at what her sister becomes, and though the two drift apart, their fates remain inextricably and dangerously linked.
