“It’s down to them to make their new life work as best they can,” Duncan explained. “They won’t have the protection of the royal family and the team that comes with being part of it. Good luck to them, but they are very vulnerable.” The couple are expected to complete their final duties on 9 March at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey before their one-year trial period away from the royals begins. The couple are reportedly mulling over buying a £5.4 million five-bedroom mansion, complete with two swimming pools and a tennis court.

Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, have been living in a £14.1 million waterfront mansion in Vancouver Island, Canada, with nine-month-old son Archie ever since announcing their decision to step away from the royal family.

It’s thought the pair are eyeing up Malibu, a beachfront city where many wealthy celebrities live, due to its close proximity to Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland, who lives in nearby Los Angeles.

It’s also not far from Hollywood – the perfect place for former actress Meghan to resurrect her career in showbusiness.

Caitlyn Jenner, who would be the couple’s neighbour, recently weighed in on rumours that the pair are house hunting in the area.

“I heard they were looking for a house in Malibu,” she said. “It must have been tough. Everyone deserves to be happy.”

Meanwhile, it’s been claimed that the couple’s lucrative Sussex Royal brand – including their Instagram page and website Caitlyn could be the couple’s neighbour
