Blanc de ceruse de Venise Photographer: Robin Fulton Female Model: Chandler Love
Having had a longtime obsession with Queen Elizabeth the first, I’ve had a peculiar fascination with the fashion choices of her era. Particularly the application of Blanc de Ceruse. The most coveted Ceruse was shipped to the nobility from Venice. Often the paste was mixed with egg whites, however the egg white would crack due to facial movement, (making smiling strictly off limits). Unbeknownst to the autocracy, Ceruse contained white lead and was highly toxic. It also tended to have a depilatory effect, meaning that some chronic users lost their eyebrows. To compensate they wore fake ones made of mouse fur. As a fashion photographer, I have grown accustomed to stoically pallid models languishing across chaises in this year’s Givenchy couture. Regardless of how flawlessly their makeup is applied, I often wonder what our future will tell us about contemporary styles. At the very least, we have preferable eyebrow options.

Carmen van Driel I am a new photographer, started out beginning of this year. My biggest inspiration in photography is my dad, he inspired me to get into photography. My dad and I did part ways as he is a landscape photographer. I have a special interest in fashion and portrait photography. These shots are from one of my projects I am currently working on which is focussed on child photography. It is fun to work with children, I sometimes have crazy ideas, and they just follow that, amazing!

Yannick Verdier Monsegur Born in 1973 in France, based in Paris and International After school of photography, Yannick Verdier Monsegur conducts training in photo services, then worked as an assistant photo studio. His many field experiments allow today to work actively between Asia and Europa. After a career in the world of media and illustration, he turned to fashion photography in 2000. He discovers a world particularly conducive to the expression of his creativity. Meanwhile, he continues to develop an artistic mingling varioues photographic approaches:black and white and color.
