SING SONGS As a worshipper and lover of music, I found that on my saddest days, it was music and scripture that lifted my spirits. Singing songs personally help me get into the presence of God. When you begin to sing you have intentionally made a decision to put on the garment of praise. Praise will lift the spirit of heaviness. As you sing about what God has already done for you, you begin to realize how big a God you serve. Bless God despite your circumstances, understanding, that He has a plan for your life. Sing unto the Lord a new song.

But that was too simple—to just take some pills and never wake up again and keep the family wondering how I died. Some people, mostly men, of course, would simply shoot themselves in the head or in the mouth so they would simultaneously pull the trigger and yet, not live long enough to feel any pain. I never liked pain though, so I couldn’t take the chance that I might actually have felt the bullet pierce my face. None of those seemed like good choices to me. Those were my choices but, as you can see, I lived to tell the story. For the person who has never once Gifted Magazine

To you, he or she may seem like a weak person, or a person that has made many mistakes in life and just wanted to finish the course. But in reality, some people who have committed suicide were pretty strong-minded, well-known celebrities. In the midst of a financial storm, all a broke person can see is financial lack. But a rich person can be diagnosed suddenly with cancer and give up on life right then and there, and all of his

I also spent a lot of time in Louisiana embracing and exploring my Cajun Creole roots and heritage from my mother’s side of the family. I was born second oldest of a family of six children. My siblings and I were very close and taught to have unbreakable love towards one another. With strong Christian values that were instilled in me by my mother and grandparents, I’ve learned that God and family are very important and there is nothing that can be a substitute for both. Those values would guide me throughout my youth and adult life. My grandfather was a Minister and Pastor of 3 churches. I loved to go to his churches to hear him sing and preach the gospel. Being that I grew up in ministry, we were singing for as long as I can remember. I am a God-fearing woman and an ordained Minister of the Gospel in the Lord’s Church. But if you have taken it and still find it challenging to know what your purpose is, I would encourage you to set aside a time daily, pray and seek God’s guidance through His word and believe He will show you, because He will.
