The smart tool for EU proposal drafters and grant writers CallforEurope is a consultancy that provides for professional information and assistance on European Policies, Programmes and Public Calls. Our mission is to support transparent knowledge and easy access to all of the opportunities offered by EU Programmes. We think that giving fresh information on such themes is a valid lever for boosting European Union integration.

The AGRIP Programme: an European Instrument for the promotion of agricultural products The CHAFEA
The Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA) is an Executive Agency set up by the European Commission to manage four EU programmes on its behalf: Health Programme; Consumer Programme; Better Training for Safer Food initiative – BTSF; Promotion of Agricultural Products Programme. Chafea is based in Luxembourg and works in close cooperation with the European Commission.
The AGRIP Programme
The programme managed by CHAFEA is based on the following regulations: ● Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council (EU) No 1144/2014 ● Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 1829/2015 ● Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1831/2015 There are 2 subprogrammes aimed at funding simple projects and multiprojects. This distinction is relevant as eligibility criteria are different. In case of simple projects,they can be submitted by one or more proposing organisations which are all from the same Member State. In case of multiple programmes, the submission must be done s submitted by at least 2 proposing organisations which are from at least 2 Member States or by one or more Union organisations. SIMPLE programmes are managed by the competent authorities in each EU Member State, under the supervision of the European Commission. MULTI programmes are managed 4 - CALL4EUROPE
by Chafea, to which project coordinators representing organisations which are partners of each project, submit reports and deliverables.
The aims of the 2 new calls
the European Commission recently launched the calls for proposals for European agrifood promotion programmes, in the EU and abroad. This year, a special focus is put on promoting products and farming methods that support more directly the European Green Deal objectives, such as organic products, fruit and vegetables and sustainable agriculture. For 2021, a total budget of €182.9 million is allocated to the promotion of EU agri-food inside and outside the EU. Out of the total budget, €173.4 million is dedicated to the co-financing of promotion programmes that will be selected among the proposals following the calls published today. Almost half of the budget (€86 million) dedicated to co-financing promotion programmes will go towards campaigns more directly in line with the European Green Deal ambitions, and in particular the Farm to Fork strategy. This includes promotion programmes on organic products with a total allocated budget of €49 million and on sustainable agriculture with a budget of €18 million. Furthermore, €19.1 million were allocated to the promotion of fruit and vegetables in the context of a balanced diet.
€88.1 million is allocated to promotion programmes in countries outside the EU. This includes programmes targeting countries with high growth potential such as South Korea, Japan, Mexico and Canada. In addition, programmes should also inform l consumers of the various EU quality schemes or promote the EU’s high safety and quality standards as well as the diversity and authenticity of European products. The selected programmes are expected to boost competitiveness and consumption of EU agri-food products across the globe. A wide range of bodies, such as trade organisations, producer organisations and agri-food groups responsible for promotion activities are eligible to apply for funding and submit their proposals. Projects will be assessed in particular with regard to sustainability of production and consumption criteria, in line with the climate and environmental objectives of the CAP, the European Green Deal and the Farm to Fork strategy. Proposals should be submitted by 28 April 2021 17:00 CET (Brussels) via the dedicated portal. The Commission will assess the proposals and announce the beneficiaries in the autumn. CHAFEA, the EU’s Consumer, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency, provides a number of tools to help applicants to successfully submit their proposals. INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONSULTATION ON SINGLE SYNOPSES
Programme
Public programmes that fund the specific call for proposals, according to specific policy objectives, and accompanied by specific working plans, financial regulations, etc.
Administration
Administrations, Institutions and/or Agencies, committed to the implementation of the programmes and funding of coherent initiatives and projects according to the single ongoing call for projects.
Objective
Public calls for projects generally include the general and specific objectives to be achieved by the funded initiatives. Objectives are coherent with the general ones defined by the funding programmes.
Eligible Activities
Projects are expected to be implemented through types of activities identified as eligible to public funding. In many cases, calls also list activitities and connected costs not eligible to public funding from a specific European programme.
Eligible Applicants
Entities eligible to apply for funding can be physical or legal persons. Legal persons can include public and/or private entities. In many cases, calls require applicants to form partnerships or legal consortia, with specific conditions for lead applicans, applicants and associate entities.

Objective
RIMA is a 4-year project aiming to establish a network of 13 Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) on robotics sharing best practices and providing services to facilitate uptake of I&M technologies. Its challenge is to reinforce this connection and to provide education and training on robotics I&M and to connect the value chain - research, technology companies, service providers, end users and investors - for accelerating economic growth in the field: - building upon the network pioneered by SPRINT Robotics extending it to all relevant sectors across the value chain; - encompassing network: - leading research organizations supporting one DIH per region aligned with regional policies and industry sectors, - sectoral associations that will make a bridge with end users and industries; - offering the key services to achieve acceleration including support to testing and technology transfer, coaching and training on robotics for I&M, identification of tracks to optimize processes and communication; - advising on funding opportunities relying on the S3 Thematic Platform on robotics for I&M federating the common ambition of EU-13 regions; - ensuring network sustainability by adopting the SPRINT business model.
Eligible Activities
Successful candidates will receive equity-free funding to conduct their experiments. In addition, they will get access to acceleration services e.g. training, business mentoring and technical support from RIMA network. Types of eligible activities: developing, testing and validating the technical and economic viability of a robotic system prototype demonstrated in an operational environment.
Eligible Applicants
Start-ups, SMEs, companies or research institutes/organizations, with legal entity established, that own and operate an IoT platform/solution. SMEs or slightly bigger companies from one RIMA target Use Domain (Water supply and sanitation; Energy generation and distribution; Oil & gas and Chemicals ; Nuclear ; Urban and suburban transport routes and buildings ; Transport, Cargo and Mobility), that act in miniconsortium (2 entities)

Building blocks that contribute to providing such assurances include (but are not limited to) quantum-proof cryptography, public key infrastructure, (augmented) authenticated key exchange, ratchet mechanisms (such as the Noise protocol) that securely chain key material, distributed hash tables and DAGs to make P2P interaction more secure, conflictfree replicated data types, mixnets and onion routing mechanisms, consensus protocols, distributed ledgers and (post) blockchain technologies that create redundant data sets managed independently by mutually distrustful parties, a priori usage control, symbolic and formal proofs, and tamperproof open hardware implementations of core cryptographic primitives.

scientific research; design and development of open source software and open hardware validation or constructive inquiry into existing or novel technical solutions; software engineering aimed at adapting to new usage areas or improving software quality; formal security proofs, security audits, setup and design of software testing and continuous integration; documentation for researchers, developers and end users; standardisation activities, including membership fees of standards bodies understanding user requirements and improving usability/inclusive design necessary measures in support of (broad)er deployability, e.g. packaging participation in technical, developer and community events like hackathons, IETF, W3C, RIPE meetings, FOSDEM, etc. (admission fee, travel and subsistence costs) other activities that are relevant to adhering to robust software development and deployment practices; project management; out-of-pocket costs for infrastructure essential to achieving the above

Discovery and identification technologies allow us to search and access large heterogeneous data sources and services. This not just includes sifting through documents and multi-media content, make rich structured information available but also the ability to conjure up real-time information from embedded sensors on devices. In order to cope with the resulting wealth of information, users can be supported by means like contextual querying and personalised information retrieval. Search, discovery and discoverability are basic infrastructural needs for the daily lives of humans of all ages, and we would like to put powerful new technology in the hands of future generations as building blocks for a fair and democratic society and an open economy that benefits all. If the internet is the equivalent of a global brain, we need creativity and diversity in the pathways across that brain to unlock its true potential.

Actitivities in the following domains: scientific research; design and development of open source software and open hardware validation or constructive inquiry into existing or novel technical solutions; software engineering aimed at adapting to new usage areas or improving software quality; formal security proofs, security audits, setup and design of software testing and continuous integration; documentation for researchers, developers and end users; standardisation activities, including membership fees of standards bodies; understanding user requirements and improving usability/inclusive design; necessary measures in support of (broad)er deployability, e.g. packaging; participation in technical, developer and community events like hackathons, IETF, W3C, RIPE meetings, FOSDEM, etc. (admission fee, travel and subsistence costs); other activities that are relevant to adhering to robust software development and deployment practices; project management out-of-pocket costs for infrastructure essential to achieving the above

Objective
The ERC Starting Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.
Eligible Activities
All Principal Investigators funded through an ERC Starting Grant must spend a minimum of 50% of their working time in an EU Member State or Associated Country and a minimum of 50% of their working time on the ERC project. The host institution (Applicant Legal Entity) must engage and host the Principal Investigator for at least the duration of the project, as defined in the grant agreement. It must either be established in an EU Member State or Associated Country.
Eligible Applicants
Principal Investigators shall have been awarded their first PhD at least 2 and up to 7 years prior to 1 January 2021. Cut-off dates: PhD awarded from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2018. A competitive Starting Grant Principal Investigator must have already shown the potential for research independence and evidence of maturity, for example by having produced at least one important publication as main author or without the participation of their PhD supervisor. Applicant Principal Investigators should also be able to demonstrate a promising track record of early achievements appropriate to their research field and career stage, including significant publications (as main author) in major international peer-reviewed multidisciplinary scientific journals, or in the leading international peer-reviewed journals of their respective field. They may also demonstrate a record of invited presentations in wellestablished international conferences, granted patents, awards, prizes, etc.

Typically, this may include information campaigns, participation in public consultations; cooperation and coalition building with other organisations; elaboration of position papers, conferences, seminars; training activities; awareness raising and dissemination actions; actions aiming at the creation and improvement of networks, exchanges of good practices; studies, analyses, mapping activities, concrete implementation actions, volunteers mobilisation and support, etc.

To contribute to sustainable human development by promoting a transition towards greener and climate-resilient cities in the Southern Neighbourhood, in line with countries’ commitments under the Paris Agreement, and making optimum use of climate finance intruments. These may include for instance, and not exclusively: energy efficiency in public buildings, renewable energy solutions, water efficiency measures, energy efficient street lighting, sustainable and smart mobility, wastewater treatment infrastructure, solid waste management, as long as they can demonstrate contributing to climate action objectives. • Implementation of inclusive climate mitigation and/or climate adaptation projects (including for example disaster preparedness and risk reduction interventions) based on already developed plans in line with the country’s national plans and commitments (such as Nationally Determined Contributions or National Adaptation Plans) and existing sustainable local development plans. ”Soft” measures: • Inclusive hands-on awareness raising campaigns at municipal level (reaching out to households, schools, private companies, etc.) • Training workshops for city/local administration representatives in the efficient management of natural resources and sustainable urban governance methods and principles. • Technical support to academics and research centres in developing new educational or training programs fostering eco-innovation and green technology deployment. • Capacity building for local commercial banks or other financial actors in identifying new lending sectors with high and positive climate impact, and developing appropriate innovative financing mechanisms for wider replication. • Capacity building for local media to enhance their understanding and promotion of natural resource efficiency and climate resilience. • Developing inclusive disaster preparedness and risks reduction plans, and delivering corresponding trainings to relevant users, as part of broader interventions, which may have an infrastructure component. Objective
Actions should highlight the sustainability of EU agriculture, stressing its beneficial role for climate action and the environment. Actions should address how the product(s) promoted and its/their production method(s) contribute to: (a) climate change mitigation (e.g. reduction in greenhouse gas emissions) and/or adaptation (e.g. water savings, climateresistant crops and crop varieties) and (b) at least one of the following: (i) biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of natural resources (e.g. wildlife, landscape, genetic resources); (ii) sustainable water management (e.g. water use efficiency, reduction of nutrients or pesticides load); (iii) sustainable soil management (e.g. erosion control; nutrient balance; prevention of acidification, salinisation, reduction of pesticides); (iv) sustainable, carbon-efficient methods of livestock production. (v) reduction of use of antimicrobials (vi) reduction of food loss and food waste (vii) sustainable consumption (viii) animal welfare.

According to special Eurobarometer (No 504), the awareness of the organic farming logo has increased by 29 percentage points since 2017 with 56 % of European consumers who recognise the EU logo of organic farming. The expected ultimate impact is to increase awareness of the Union quality scheme on organic production and to enhance the competitiveness and consumption of organic products, raise their profile and increase their market share.

In 2021, the Special Category prizes will go to projects focusing on sustainable living. Two projects will be selected to attend INSEAD’s Social Entrepreneurship programme in Fontainebleau, France.
Eligible Activities
The finalists participate in a tailor-made training programme (Mentoring Bootcamp, e-training on pitching, one-to-one coaching sessions, Rehearsal Bootcamp) to provide them with the necessary guidance to finalise their proposals and prepare them for the Final Event where all the finalists have to present and defend their project to a jury of social innovation specialists. In 2021, the Final Event will be held on 7 October in Lisbon, Portugal. Finalists from all SIT editions become members of the SIT Alumni Network. As members, they benefit from numerous training opportunities such as (i) the Scaling Executive Programme, a full-time executive training course focused on scaling, pitching and engagement with investors, (ii) SITolarships, an innovation grants programme, and (iii) conferences around Europe to network with investors, venture philanthropists and foundations who can help their project to scale.

- to support activities in the area of epidemiology of use of new psychoactive substances, including potent synthetic opioids, as well as emerging drug problems (notably on challenges related to cocaine and heroin use) and technological developments, including online trade of drugs; - to support the civil society organisations by reinforcing their (i) advocacy function, (ii) capacity to make a difference at the local level, (iii) best practice sharing methods; - to support key stakeholders by expanding their knowledge and skills in the context of implementing minimum quality standards in drug demand reduction (also on development of tools which would allow to measure possible improvements), particularly in the area of social integration and vulnerable groups; - to promote practical application of drug-related research, and, in particular, addiction research with a view of addressing current challenges and new threats.

The specific objective(s) of this call for proposals are: 1. Promoting youth and women empowerment 2. Support freedom of expression, strengthening media literacy, and countering illegal hate speech. The priorities of this call for proposals are: (i) Promote inclusive growth and inclusive decision-making through women and youth empowerment, as well as opportunities for youth to become self-employed through supporting creative start-ups and initiatives to entrepreneurship and employability skills. (ii) Support civil society, women and youth organisations to promote and protect freedom of opinion and expression by facilitating the free flow of information and ensuring transparency and accountability, as well as strengthening media literacy and countering hate speech in the media.
Eligible Activities
Actions must address one or more of the call’s specific priorities and integrate each and all the crosscutting priorities (see section 1.2). Actions including multi-stakeholder approaches or innovative partnerships, incorporating youth and women participation will be considered favourably.

Objective
The global objective of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) 2018-2020 is to enhance the respect for implementation and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms in line with international and regional human rights standards, conventions and instruments, and to strengthen their protection, promotion and monitoring, mainly through support to relevant CSOs, human rights defenders (HRDs) and victims of repression and abuse. It also aims at supporting, developing and consolidating democracy in third countries by enhancing participatory and representative democracy, strengthening the overall democratic cycle, in particular by reinforcing an active role for civil society within this cycle, the rule of law and improving the reliability of electoral processes through means of election observation missions. In Palestine, the global objective of the Country-Based Support Scheme (CBSS) is to strengthen the role of Palestinian civil society (CS) in the promotion and monitoring of human rights.

Training, capacity-building of CSOs and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), education, seminars, workshops, conferences, advocacy and lobbying, legal work, awareness raising activities especially for the most marginalized and disadvantaged, empowerment, elaboration of publications and support to written and visual material (digitalisation), equipment, support to schools/ health centres, therapeutic remedial education, curriculum development/improvement, installation of online services, monitoring and reporting on violations of human rights treaty obligations; development of contextualised human rights indicators and monitoring frameworks on Right to Education and Right to Health; formulation and submission of shadow reports; engagement with the PA and the human rights treaty system including effective participation in PA-led national consultations, review of relevant laws to promote harmonisation with international standards.

Objective
The overall objective of Mayors for Economic Growth is to enhance economic growth and job creation in the region by supporting local authorities in the EaP countries in designing and implementing Local Economic Development Plans (LEDPs) with a view to generating systemic results in line with the principles of good governance and sound financial management, and in coherence with other initiatives. The global objective of this call for proposals is to support the implementation of municipal pilot projects building on approved LEDPs, and in line with the EU’s targeted support to focal regions. Specific objectives are: - Invest in local comparative advantages to stimulate business development (e.g. encouraging the formation of new or innovative enterprises; supporting the growth of particular clusters of businesses; supporting informal and newly emerging businesses aiming to improve local value chains, etc.); investments in strategic options for business development or strengthening resilience of local economic models (i.e. reimagining value chains, strengthening and greening local economies). Invest in hard (physical) and soft infrastructure to improve the business environment (educational and workforce development, institutional support systems including local business, councils, chambers of commerce, business associations); exploring new business opportunities (i.e. platform economies) that can have a catalytic and systemic effect. Attract external investment, increase local access to finance, and increase attractiveness of local authorities for innovative/diverse sources of finance. Encourage the participation of beneficiaries who have not yet received a support grant under the previous Call for Proposals “Mayors for Economic Growth pioneer projects” with reference EuropeAid/155272/DH/ACT/Multi.

L’objectif global du programme SAN est de promouvoir le développement socio-économique du Tchad par une réduction de la malnutrition.L’objectif spécifique du programme SAN est de contribuer à une réduction significative de la prévalence de la malnutrition chronique au Tchad. Cet appel à propositions a pour objectif spécifique : sécuriser une nutrition appropriée des populations vulnérables par une amélioration des performances productives des producteurs ruraux et des opportunités économiques de ménages des zones d’intervention. Objective
To contribute to the transformation of agriculture sector in Angola through innovation and research. The specific objective of this call for proposals are: Applied research and innovation improve action to address climate change adaptation and resilience of family farming in Angola.
Eligible Activities
The research shall cover crops, livestock production, food and non-food chains and household economy. The following areas should be explored: resource management, notably soil and water, genetic resources; climate-smart agroecological production, including livestock, value chains enhancement, and sustainable business models for family farming, and agro-meteorological services for famers. Direct beneficiaries are those to receive funds and are responsible for the implementation: consortia composed of national, European and international research bodies, including universities. The target groups will be farmers and their organizations to benefit with innovations to improve their productivity and resilience. Public and private research bodies, NGOs and the private sector shall benefit with capacity building and shall improve knowledge on agriculture innovation.
