RESTORATIVE CARE Restore One is a ministry that seeks to open shelters that offer faith-based residential recovery programs, free of cost to victims of domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) and Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE). Currently there are no shelters within the United States designated solely for male DMST and CSE victims. Restore One recognizes the need for shelters designed specifically to serve these boys. By year 2014, our goal is to have opened Anchor House. Anchor House will be our first shelter that provides refuge and restoration to 6 adolescent boys, ages 12-17.

D Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children: Domestic Minor Sex trafficking (DMST): DMST is when an American child, under the control of a pimp or trafficker, is forced, coerced or tricked to sell their bodies for sexual purposes. These children are often between the ages of 11-17. Their pimp or trafficker collects all the profits made from selling their body for commercial sex acts such as prostitution, pornography, erotic entertainment and/or others. Commercial sexual exploitation of Children (CSEC): The commercial sexual exploitation of children is recognized as criminal acts that damage, jeopardize and violate the physical and psychological well-being of children. The most common forms of commercial sexual exploitation are prostitution, pornography and child sex trafficking but is not limited to these acts.

THE NEED Currently there are not shelters within the United Sates designated to serve male commercial sexual exploited or sex trafficked victims. Boys have been largely overlooked as victims of the sex trade. Our culture has identified males as the perpetrator but has failed to address them as victims. Studies referenced that many of the boys who attempted to exit the sex trade were discouraged from such efforts due to the absence of programs designed to serve males. A study interviewing commercial sexual exploited males reported that 80% strongly felt there was a grave need for residential programs and support services designed exclusively to address the unique issues facing sex trafficked and sexually exploited males.

In the midst of unpredictable tides, an anchor is used to hold a boat firmly in place and to protect it from drifting off into dangerous waters. Similar to a boat anchor, the Anchor House will provide a place of stability and protection for boys who have been sexually trafficked and/or exploited.
