Showing the city the love of God through tangible acts of service. “But seek the welfare of the city… and pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

—Jeremiah 29:7

Mission | CityServe organizes an annual four-day collaborative event in the fall that includes the following components: Leadership Luncheon In the fall of 2016, we organized a historic gathering of pastors from all over our city. They were invited to listen and respond to Mayor John Suthers’ call for the faith community to come alongside the city in serving our local homeless population, single-parent households and those affected by marijuana abuse. The response of the local church was significant and has gained the attention of many other leaders throughout the community. The Leadership Luncheon is an opportunity for leaders within the faith community to gather with our city’s leaders, including Mayor Suthers, to learn how we can best address the most urgent needs across our city. Our hope for this annual gathering is to inspire the leaders of our faith community towards greater collaborative efforts that will ultimately bless our city and provide support for those in need.

Ecumenical Worship Service Friday evening’s ecumenical worship service is a unique service put together by CityServe partner churches. Hosted in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs at one of the city’s most historic churches, participants are invited to celebrate all that God is doing through the collective efforts of the local church. This worship service is truly a powerful evening that recognizes the diversity of our beautiful city and all of the Kingdom work being done within our city limits.

Mission | CityServe organizes an annual four-day collaborative event in the fall that includes the following components. Saturday Serve Day Thousands of men and women from across Colorado Springs will spread out across the City giving hands and feet to the Gospel message while serving at one of over a hundred project locations. Our team has adopted the phrase “worship in action to describe what takes place on Saturday as part of CityServe. Individuals from different congregations serve alongside one another at public schools, parks, local businesses and non-profit organizations in an effort to beautify, rebuild and restore these special places. In 2016, approximately 1,500 volunteers contributed 5,000 hours of volunteer service to the city of Colorado Springs, saving the city an estimated $115,000. The Saturday Serve Day is a no-strings-attached day of service and our motivation is simple: When a city prospers so do its people.

Church Commissioning On Sunday morning, churches around the city are invited to tell the story of what God is doing through the collaborative efforts of the local Church and through CityServe. A compelling HD video that captures the events of the weekend is provided to all partner churches, telling the story of CityServe and inspiring congregations to continue building relationships with the city.

Our Objectives

CONVERSATIONS: to spark new conversations for the long-term engagement of churches within the city CATALYST: to catalyze a movement of Christ followers to serve the city CONNECTIONS: to create greater connection and relationships between churches and the city

Where We Are Going

What’s next. As the movement of CityServe continues to grow, we are excited to partner with more churches and organizations representing thousands of individual believers, joining hands and bending knees in service to our beloved city. Our hope is that our four-day event would serve as a catalyst to build ongoing relationships with the city and to help generate additional support for city-wide needs. While supporting local school districts is a top priority, we also want to help churches mobilize their congregations to meet existing needs in their immediate neighborhoods.

Meet our team.

We celebrate the love of our city and the many lives that were impacted by your service.
